We know choosing a photographer can be super hard, especially if it’s your first time. That’s why we made this FAQ section for you. Here you’ll find some answers to the things you might be wondering about and some things you didn’t even think of asking!
We try to make the process as simple as possible for you to work with us. It all starts with a consultation either in person or zoom so we can provide you with a personalized quote for your photography needs. If all looks good it’s as simple as signing a contract and putting down a non-refundable $500 retainer and that’s it! You’ve hired your wedding photographer!
If you’ve hired us for 6 or more hours of coverage we always include two photographers. This way we’re there for all the special moments throughout the day. If you are planning a wedding with lots of special details or have a large amount of people in your bridal party or guests at your wedding we also offer adding a third photographer or assistant.
We highly recommend you scheduling one so that we can get to know each other before the big day. It gives you extra practice in front of the camera and we learn all your best angles. But if you really don’t want or need an engagement session because you’ve already had you pictures taken we offer other options from different types of sessions, an extra hour of coverage on their wedding day or cover the rehearsal dinner if it fits in our schedule. It’s a case-by-case basis.
Absolutely! We love to travel whether it’s for your engagement session, your wedding or both, let’s chat! Anywhere in the lower peninsula of Michigan is covered without any extra travel fees. Travel beyond that is quoted based on where you need us and what you’re looking for.
We offer wedding photography packages starting at $4500. However, we find that our couples love to be able to customize their photography coverage specific to their needs. We meet with you via a zoom call to learn about your dream wedding day and what you’re looking for in wedding photography coverage. From there we create a wedding package that is tailored to your specific needs.
Yes we do, this is a fairly new offering for our company and we are actively growing it. We would be happy to discuss what you’re looking for in a boudoir photography session.
If your wedding package includes the digital images, you will receive an average of about 80 images per hour of wedding day photography coverage.
All of the images you see have had basic retouching and editing done to ensure consistent color and quality. Any images ordered for a printed product will have a final hand-retouch pass done to them to adjust any details that may show up with the images are expanded in print. If you would like any specific retouching or photoshop work done beyond this it is available for purchase.
The turn around time depends on the type of session. For engagement photography sessions your images are typically ready within 2-3 weeks. Wedding photography images are ready on average in about 3-4 weeks.
If you’ve chosen to purchase fine art prints, gift products or wall art these are usually ready within 2 weeks of design sign-off. Wedding albums typically take an average of 3-4 weeks for delivery from sign-off as these are handmade based on your design.
Yes! We believe in the power of a printed image. We are constantly working on finding the best quality printed products and ways for you to enjoy your images with style and heirloom quality in mind. We offer anything from fully customized wedding albums to wall art in canvas and metal, and gift products like a curved metal print or that 5×7 every grandma needs.
We find ourselves to be a blend of journalist and timeless photography. We believe in true-color images that stand the test of time and aren’t trendy in fashion. We’ll let your clothes and hair styles be the things that date them 😉 On a wedding day, we blend a mix of prompted/posed images and capture the moments of your wedding day as it unfolds. If there’s something specific you want to make sure we capture, let us know!
We partner with Unnamed Films to bring you videography. This way we can both focus on what we’re good at! You can either book everything through us or let them know you’re booking your wedding with us they’ll give you a special rate.
For sure! You can add-on an assistant to any wedding package to photograph and video the behind-the-scenes clips for you to post on your social media. This way you can put your phone down and enjoy the day as it unfolds. Just let us know and we can provide you a quote based on what you’re looking for.
We shoot with modern, professional camera equipment. For all the technology nuts out there here’s the details: Canon R5 Mirrorless Cameras with Canon lenses, Profoto lighting equipment for portraits and dusk/nighttime coverage. As much as possible on the wedding day we are utilizing the power of the sunshine and only filling in with flash when it’s needed. Our cameras have dual memory card slots, which means if one fails there’s always a backup.
Absolutely – they’re just as much a part of your family as children can be. Although, we can’t make any guarantees of how the images will turn out because pets always have a mind of their own! We always recommend that if you do want to include your pet in your engagement photos or wedding make sure you have a person to handle the pet when they aren’t in the frame.
Photography has been our passion since high school, and our profession for over a decade. Before we started our own studio in 2019, Michael worked as an assistant for another photographer who moved away.
Fun fact: we both took the same college course on photography one semester apart, but we didn’t meet until six years later. It seems like fate wanted us to be together 🙂
